Keeping Ministry With Men World Class

Paul Subritzky with Ron Hannah, CEO, Promise Keepers Canada

A team from PKNZ recently travelled to meet our counterparts at Promise Keepers Canada. This is the first time we have met up with the Canadians. The two ministries share many similarities so it proved to be a valuable and strategic meeting. We look forward to working together more in the future.

We later went on to the annual conference of the National Coalition of Men’s Ministries. This conference brings together many top ministries and resources so it is a wonderful opportunity to pick up new ideas and the best tools.

The team had a brilliant bonding trip and came back excited by the concepts we saw. Everyone travelled at their own expense except Dean who was required to go as part of his Coaching duties. We appreciate the sacrifices men (and families) made to be part of this team.

Churches United for Men’s Events

I was asked recently to speak at a men’s breakfast run by “Manukau Men United”. This is a group of nine churches working cooperatively. Together they can create larger events for less effort than they could do individually. It was well supported with about 90 men present. I was also impressed by the number of pastors and leaders there.

In Southland, a similar group got together and in association with Promise Keepers, held an evening event featuring ex All Black Eroni Clarke. That group, “Southern Men”, is committed to ongoing events as well.

If you are dissatisfied with your capacity to hold significant men’s events, then why not consider working together with other churches for the common good?
