That's a Wrap!

The team is tidying up now we have completed the Events. The Final FUEL Event in Auckland was incredible with great atmosphere and participation. We are all thrilled at the impact of the Events as God moved so powerfully on so many lives. God has refuelled men with everlasting fuel. Some men have changed instantly and dramatically. For others it will be a process that continues over time.

There is a real sense that Promise Keepers is being used by God to spearhead change in our nation. There is also resonance among men about our theme for 2008: “Leave No Man Behind” It is a call to brotherly love and sacrifice so that men are not isolated and defeated. Rather, we want to see men as part of a strong community of faith. It will be a challenge to all of us to rise and be part of the solution.

The Halfway Point: 4 Events completed, one more to go

Seven weeks ago, FUEL launched in Dunedin. In two weeks time, it wraps up in Auckland. The halfway point refers to attendance - half the men attending FUEL will be at the Auckland Event. So far the vibes are just fantastic with lots of extremely postive feedback so it is exciting to look forward to what God will do at FUEL Auckland. I am currently doing some tweaking to the program that will make some improvements and fine tune the Event.
We appreciate all our friends who support Promise Keepers and invite friends along. To help them, we advertise so that awareness is already there when PK is discussed and invitations are extended. Auckland is a big, expensive and difficult market to reach. We target our limited resources through the Rhema network to connect with Christians. Then we use outdoor signs and TV ads to reach a mass market. TV is obviously expensive so is limited in spending. Outdoor has opportunities but is an organisational and logistical nightmare and just plain hardwork. Although we have many great guys on the signage teams, John and I both get out there locating sites and erecting signs. If you can help great. But even if you can't, how about offering a prayer each time you see a PK sign and think about what is happening?
Roll on Auckland. It will be massive, exciting and unique. Get in before it is sold out.

FUEL Events Launched!

Months of preparation by dozens of people have culminated in the successful launch of the FUEL Events in Dunedin. The team is thrilled at the support of so many men stepping up to register for FUEL and signing on for the journey to biblical manhood. 508 men did exactly that in Dunedin last weekend. This is the highest attendance in Dunedin ever! Have you read what they said? Read more>>

Numbers are important but transformation is more important. One man said he wondered if he got out as much this year as he did last year at PK. Then he reflected that in the last year he has started reading his Bible regularly, stepped up to leadership and inspired a large group of men from his church to come with him to FUEL. Seeing as he has matured so much in the last year since PK, this year was bound to be different. From helping himself he is now helping others. That is real transformation!

Will you be part of the action at FUEL this year? I sure hope so because what God is doing is simply MASSIVE!

Ready for a ROADTRIP?

Only a few weeks now to the first FUEL event in Dunedin. We are excited that so many men have registered so early for the Dunedin Event - about 300% ahead of last year. We have a bigger range of promotional resources available earlier than ever so that is helping.
The "FUEL for the maximum life" is a fantastic theme that really allows us to have a bit of fun as men. Guys on the team really are looking forward to just putting the boot hard to the floor and going all out this year. The inaugural Truck Pull last year went so well that we are taking it nationwide.

If you have ever wanted to do a roadtrip, then this is the year to enjoy a cruise to PK and back. Don't hold back!

FUEL DVD out now!

Our most powerful promotional DVD ever has just been produced! The promo has been planned for a year. The late Peter Taylor had the vision, produced the storyboard and organised the footage we needed from the Unleashed Event. With long (5 min) and short (90 sec) versions, the FUEL video is suitable for church services and smaller groups.

Tony Anthony’s powerful evangelism message from Unleashed Auckland is also on the DVD. We are incredibly excited about distributing this on hundreds of DVDs. There is great potential for people to come to Christ as a result. Other bonus features include Amos’ powerful testimony, Mark Beale outlining Manukau Men United where churches work together and a few funny clips as well.

In a breakthrough, the DVD is partitioned so that many useful files are also included as a DVD Rom for computer use. Files include 20 powerpoints promoting FUEL, bulletin inserts and logos to assist men to create their own advertising.

Can you help us to get this DVD out and shown around New Zealand? We need people like you to maximise the impact of this big project.

Contact PK or phone 0800 PROMISE for your free copy of this outstanding resource! (New Zealand only) MORE

Keeping Ministry With Men World Class

Paul Subritzky with Ron Hannah, CEO, Promise Keepers Canada

A team from PKNZ recently travelled to meet our counterparts at Promise Keepers Canada. This is the first time we have met up with the Canadians. The two ministries share many similarities so it proved to be a valuable and strategic meeting. We look forward to working together more in the future.

We later went on to the annual conference of the National Coalition of Men’s Ministries. This conference brings together many top ministries and resources so it is a wonderful opportunity to pick up new ideas and the best tools.

The team had a brilliant bonding trip and came back excited by the concepts we saw. Everyone travelled at their own expense except Dean who was required to go as part of his Coaching duties. We appreciate the sacrifices men (and families) made to be part of this team.

Churches United for Men’s Events

I was asked recently to speak at a men’s breakfast run by “Manukau Men United”. This is a group of nine churches working cooperatively. Together they can create larger events for less effort than they could do individually. It was well supported with about 90 men present. I was also impressed by the number of pastors and leaders there.

In Southland, a similar group got together and in association with Promise Keepers, held an evening event featuring ex All Black Eroni Clarke. That group, “Southern Men”, is committed to ongoing events as well.

If you are dissatisfied with your capacity to hold significant men’s events, then why not consider working together with other churches for the common good?
